Pursuit Leads to Arrest in Marianna

Frank White Jr.

The Jackson County Times received the following press release from the Marianna Police Department.

On the evening of January 30, 2026, officers with the Marianna Police Department arrested a local man following a vehicle pursuit and brief foot chase.

At approximately 8:26 p.m., an officer attempted to stop a white Hyundai traveling south on Harrison Street near Old Cottondale Road for equipment and registration violations. The driver refused to stop and fled, leading officers through several residential streets while running multiple stop signs and driving at a high rate of speed.

The vehicle came to a stop in the 4000 block of Roulhac Street. The driver exited the vehicle and ran on foot. Officers pursued the suspect, who attempted to enter a nearby residence and resisted arrest before being taken into custody.

The driver was identified as Frank White Jr. During the arrest, officers located a concealed knife with an 8.25-inch blade on White’s person. Officers also recovered suspected narcotics, which later tested presumptively positive for Alpha-PVP.

While the driver fled on foot, the unattended vehicle rolled into a nearby residence, causing minor property damage. No injuries were reported.

Further investigation showed White is a convicted felon and was driving with a suspended license at the time of the incident.

White was arrested and charged with the following offenses:

• Aggravated Fleeing or Eluding a Law Enforcement Officer

• Leaving the Scene of a Crash Involving Property Damage

• Driving While License Suspended or Revoked with Knowledge

• Resisting Arrest Without Violence

• Felon in Possession of a Concealed Weapon

• Possession of Alpha-PVP

White was transported to the Jackson County Jail without further incident.

The Marianna Police Department reminds the public that fleeing from law enforcement creates serious danger for officers, residents, and other motorists.
