Word of the Day:

Friday:  Twig: Verb. To understand or realize something. After the appraisal, the family began to twig that the old coin collection was immensely valuable.

Saturday: Ides: Plural noun. In the ancient Rome calendar, a day falling roughly in the middle of each month (the 15th day of March, May, July, and October, and the 13th of other months) from which other dates were calculated.  Don knew he couldn’t take on any more work until at least the ides.

Sunday: Decoction: Noun. 1. The liquor resulting from concentrating the essence of a substance by heating or boiling, especially a medicinal preparation made from a plant.

2. The action or process of extracting the essence of something. My grandmother fed her own decoction of medicinal herbs to anyone who was sick.

Monday: Wistful: Adjective. Having or showing a feeling of vague or regretful longing. She always felt wistful during the winter months.

Tuesday: Divination: Noun. The practice of foretelling the future by supernatural means 2. An especially strong sense of intuition or perception. The fortune teller was known for her divination skills, using tea leaves and tarot cards.

Wednesday: Fossick: Verb. (informal) Rummage; search. 2. Search for gold in abandoned workings. Alvin went to the flea market to fossick for interesting trinkets.

Thursday: Axiomatic: Adjective.  1. Self-evident or unquestionable. 2. (Mathematics) Relating to or containing axioms.  You might think the solution is axiomatic, but I need more evidence.
