Homicide Investigation Underway

The Jackson County Times received the following press release from the Marianna Police Department.

On December 14, 2025, at approximately 5:20 pm officers with the Marianna Police Department responded to the Gibbs Apartment Complex, located on Milton Avenue, in reference to a report of a person who had been shot multiple times. Upon arrival, officers attempted to render lifesaving aid; however, those efforts were unsuccessful. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Officers and investigators with the Marianna Police Department immediately began a homicide investigation. This investigation is ongoing.
