Aldi is coming to Marianna
Winn-Dixie closed its doors in Marianna on November 8, 2025. Less than a month later, a new sign has gone up letting Marianna and Jackson County residents know a replacement is on the way.
About a year ago, Aldi purchased a large number of Winn-Dixie stores, and since then loyal shoppers have been left wondering what the future of the Marianna location would be. For months, rumors suggested many stores might stay as they were. But by late summer, it became public that Aldi would be taking over the Marianna Winn-Dixie, sparking fresh speculation about how long the transition would take. Estimates ranged anywhere from several months to as little as 60 days.
In mid-November, a spokesperson for Aldi told the Times they were aiming for a mid- to late-January 2026 opening. This week, the installation of the new Aldi sign suggests progress is moving quickly toward that goal.
Meanwhile, efforts to confirm whether a Five Below store might move into the remaining unoccupied portion of the former Winn-Dixie building have gone unanswered. We’ll continue working to gather updates on whether Five Below, or another retailer, will take over the remaining space.
