One arrested for possession of methamphetamine
The Jackson County Times received the following press release from the Marianna Police Department.
On Thursday, November 13, 2025, at approximately 2:30 A.M. Marianna Police Officers responded to a residence at Pebble Hill Estates in reference to a subject trespassing and refusing to leave.
Upon arrival, officers made contact with the resident who explained that her child’s father, Tavorious Laster, arrived earlier in the night, uninvited. The resident noted that Laster seemed to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. She stated she allowed Laster to enter the residence, but once he became aggressive towards her she demanded that he leave the residence. After he refused, she requested law enforcement assistance.
While speaking with the resident, Laster opened the front door and entered onto the porch area. When asked to identify himself, Laster refused to do so. He was then requested by law enforcement to vacate the premises at the request of the resident. Laster then turned from the officer and entered back into the residence attempting to close the door. Officers gave chase into the residence and placed him under arrest without incident.
Prior to transporting Laster to the Jackson County Jail, Officers conducted a search of his person. A small pill was located inside Laster’s pants pocket. Upon conducted a field test of the substance it was discovered to be MDMA/Methamphetamine.
Laster was transported to JCCF to await first appearance. He was charged with possession of methamphetamine and resisting and officer without violence.
