Ladies First 2025 – Another Success
By: Shelia Mader
Rivertown Community Church was the setting for the sixth annual Ladies First event on October 8. The celebration was made possible by sponsors First Federal Bank, Florida Public Utilities, Rivertown Community Church, and All In Credit Union.
Jackson County Chamber of Commerce CEO Lacey Ekberg welcomed guests and thanked them for attending. Amanda Parrish of First Federal Bank introduced the keynote speaker, Hanna Bauer, CEO of Heartnomics.
Bauer shared her remarkable story, a testament to hope, resilience, and the power of love. At just four years old, she was diagnosed with a life-threatening heart condition that left doctors searching for answers and her family praying for a miracle. That miracle came in 1992, when Hanna became part of a groundbreaking cardiac surgery at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. The procedure not only saved her life but has since helped more than 3,000 children receive the same life-saving operation.
Following Bauer, Megan Lynn, a popular southern lifestyle influencer with over one million followers across her social media channels, closed out the speaker lineup. Lynn is known for spreading joy, faith, and positivity to everyone she meets.
Two awards were presented during the event: Ladies First Female Employee of the Year and Ladies First Businesswoman of the Year.
Incoming Chamber Executive Director Nikisha Milsapp presented Priscilla Noble with the Female Employee of the Year award. Tresa Wood of Stethoscope Staffing was named Businesswoman of the Year.
Wood expressed her gratitude after receiving the honor, “As a female business owner, I am humbled and honored to be chosen for this award. I am passionate about providing care for the elderly and serving our community. Thank you, Lacey and the Chamber, for this incredible recognition. I couldn’t do what I do without my team.”
The event drew a large crowd, with attendees enjoying a delicious meal and the chance to connect with women from across Jackson County representing a wide range of professions.
