Cottondale and Marianna win on Monday night

The Cottondale Hornets were in triple action on the volleyball court Monday night, while Marianna had two teams in action.

Cottondale traveled south to take on Altha and walked away with wins in middle school, junior varsity and varsity games.

The middle school Hornets won in three sets, taking two for the win. The junior varsity made it a 2-0 shutout. The varsity gave the crowd their money’s worth, taking it to five sets before they picked up the 3-2 win.

MHS Volleyball wins times two!

The Bulldogs hosted Vernon Monday night in the Dawg Pound and walked away with wins in both the junior varsity and varsity games.

Junior varsity dropped the first set 20-25 before coming back in set two with a 25-16 win. They close in out in dramatic fashion with a dominating 15-7 third-set to win the game.

Varsity took an easier road, winning the game in three sets. Set one was a 25-3 thrashing, followed by a 25-15 win for set two, and 25-18 to capture the win.

Issues with Hudl have delayed stats being posted but those troubles should be remedied today, and the Times will update with scores.
