Two arrested Friday Morning

The Jackson County Times received the following press release from the Marianna Police Department.

On Friday March 20, 2026, at approximately 2:14 a.m., officers responded to reports of suspicious individuals observed in a wooded area adjacent to the federal facility. Staff reported seeing two individuals moving in and out of the tree line using flashlights and believed they may have been attempting to introduce contraband into the institution.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with staff and were directed to the area where the individuals were last seen. After issuing verbal commands for the subjects to identify themselves, officers entered the wooded area and located both individuals hiding behind a dirt mound. They were taken into custody without incident and identified as Cameron Moore and Natranza Brownlee.

Both subjects were found to be on property clearly marked with “No Trespassing” signage and were placed under arrest for trespassing. They were searched and secured in separate patrol vehicles prior to transport.

After arriving at the Jackson County Correctional Facility, officers conducted a standard post-transport inspection of the patrol vehicle used to transport Moore. During that search, officers located two plastic baggies concealed within the rear seat area. One bag contained a green leafy substance consistent with marijuana, and the other contained approximately 15.1 grams of crushed pills. Subsequent testing confirmed the presence of methamphetamine.

Based on the investigation, Cameron Moore has been charged with the following:

Trafficking in Methamphetamine (14 grams or more)
Tampering with Evidence
Trespass After Warning

Natranza Brownlee has been charged with:

Trespass After Warning

This remains an active investigation, and additional charges may be filed as more information becomes available.
