Creed Whitworth signs on the dotted line

Creed Whitworth made it official last week in front of family, friends, and supporters from both Marianna and Sneads. He’ll continue his education and take his golf career to the next level at Coastal Alabama Community College.
Whitworth drew plenty of attention this past season as a member of the Marianna High School golf team, where he led the Bulldogs in most of their matches. He joined the program after being cleared to play under an FHSAA rule that allows students to compete at another county school when their home school doesn’t offer that sport—Sneads High does not field a golf team.
This year, Whitworth advanced to regionals as the district’s top qualifier. He’s also a dual-sport athlete and a key contributor to the Sneads baseball team his junior year.
Head coach Ric Gable and assistant coach Gino Mayo speak highly of Whitworth, praising both his work ethic and his character.
He is the son of Jeremy and Jara Whitworth.
