Three AA coach pitch games at Optimist Park featured plenty of offense and extra-base hits during a busy week on the diamond. The Cubs exploded for 14 runs against the Braves, while the Twins edged the Braves in a close back-and-forth contest. In Malone league action, Malone 2 slipped past the Malone Tigers 4-3 in a tight defensive game. Complete stats were not available for Malone 2, but the Tigers’ offensive totals were recorded.

Cubs 14, Braves 3

The Cubs put together a big offensive performance Thursday, collecting 15 hits in a 14-3 win over the Braves at Optimist Park. Chance Bess led the way with two hits, including a home run and a double, while driving in four runs. Miller Price and Redic Williams each finished with three hits and scored twice, with both players adding doubles. Jayden Williams added two hits and an RBI, while Avrick Neel drove in two runs with a double. Jozeph Boyd contributed two hits and an RBI for the Cubs, who scored five runs in the first inning and never looked back.

For the Braves, Seth Schuler, Silas Schuler, Kingston Rhynes, Malaki Brown, Jaxon Carr and Maverick Meyer each recorded hits. Maverick Meyer delivered the Braves’ biggest hit with a triple and an RBI. Seth Schuler, Grayson Hall and Silas Schuler each drove in runs as the Braves finished with six hits.

Twins 6, Braves 5

The Twins rallied late to edge the Braves 6-5 Monday in a closely contested game at Optimist Park. The Twins totaled 11 hits, led by strong performances from players identified in the scorebook as No. 5 and No. 4, who each collected three hits. No. 4 also drove in two runs, while No. 5 scored three times. The Twins used a three-run fifth inning to secure the win.

The Braves answered with 12 hits of their own. Seth Schuler had a huge game, going 3-for-3 with two runs scored. Silas Schuler added a hit and drove in three runs, while Jase Tyler and Jaxon Carr each had two hits and an RBI. Kingston Rhynes, Elijah Wiggins and Tyler Smith also contributed hits for the Braves. The Braves piled up extra-base hits throughout the game, including doubles by Tyler Smith and triples from Silas Schuler and Seth Schuler.

Malone Two 4, Malone Tigers 3

Malone Two edged the Malone Tigers 4-3 Monday in a tight game. Full statistics for Malone Two were unavailable, but the Tigers collected seven hits in the loss.

Boaz Conrad led the Malone Tigers with two hits, while Nolan Bryan, Rhett Gardner, JR Bryan, Christopher Hough and Kaz White each added hits. Nolan Bryan and Kaz White drove in runs for the Tigers, who scored all three of their runs in the third inning. Christopher Hough, JR Bryan and Rhett Gardner each doubled for the Tigers, while Boaz Conrad added a triple. The Tigers finished with 17 strikeouts in the contest.
