Six Candidates for County Attorney ranked

By: Shelia Mader

The Jackson County Board of County Commissioners will meet in a special session on Tuesday, January 6, to interview six candidates for the position of county attorney. The Board had initially planned to interview only the top four candidates, but at its December meeting decided to move forward with interviews of all six.

Each candidate will be asked to respond to a set of prepared questions. Afterward, commissioners may ask follow-up questions or seek clarification on the responses given.

Each interview will be limited to 30 minutes. Once all interviews are complete, the Board will vote to select the next attorney for the Board of County Commissioners.

The candidates were ranked by a ranking committee prior to their scheduled interviews. Set for interviews are:  Nathan G. Nolin, Casey Bigelow, Marcus Green, Hartman Law Firm Blankenship and Jordan, Knowles and Randolph.

The committee responsible for ranking the candidates consisted of Frank Bondurant, Donnie Branch, Woodrow W. Hatcher, and Herman Laramore.
