Jackson County School Board makes statement about a bus bomb threat

Marianna, FL - On Monday afternoon emergency personnel were called to Marianna High School for a reported bomb threat. The threat was reported to involve a Jackson County School bus. Jackson County Sheriff deputies responded immediately and secured the scene. After a thorough evaluation, it was determined by authorities that the threat was a false alarm.

The Jackson County School Board issued the following statement:

A situation on a school bus in Marianna has been resolved with no incident.

Out of an abundance of caution, one of our buses was evacuated due to a statement a student made that was reported to the driver concerning a potential safety risk on the bus. All students are safe and being transported home on another bus. Thank you for the quick response from Jackson County Sheriff, Marianna Fire Department, Marianna Police Department, and Jackson County Fire Rescue.
