JaCo-Con ’26 Returns to Jackson County
Get ready for a day full of comics, gaming, cosplay, anime, books, and sci-fi at the second annual JaCo-Con ‘26, returning to Jackson County this weekend.
From 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday, the recently opened Endeavor Convention Center, located at 4060 Governor Rick Scott Drive in Marianna, will be full of all things pop-culture fun for all ages.
With panels, photo opportunities with characters, games, and a cosplay contest, this event acts as Marianna’s first pop-culture convention.
“Events like this are not that common in rural areas, and I felt like it was very important to put something like this on here in Jackson County,” said event coordinator Jay Player.
Additionally, there will be nearly 30 exhibitors, vendors, and food trucks at Saturday’s event.
In the past, Comic Con Events used to be limited to major metros. Now, smaller cities are launching their own versions. Libraries, bookstores, and local groups are organizing them. They’re cheaper and more commonly focused on a smaller scale.
JaCo-Con fits that model almost perfectly.
What used to be ‘Geek culture’ is mainstream now. Marvel, Star Wars, anime, gaming, cosplay are all mainstream. Today, people don’t just consume it, they participate and it’s that participation angle is why small-scaled conventions work well.
General admission tickets for adults are $15, children ages 9-15 are $10, and kids 8 years and under are free. There are also family pass options available for purchase.
