First Ladies of Sneads Host “Pumpkins by the Lake”
By Shelia Mader
Jackson County can count on many things, and one of them is that the First Ladies of Sneads will always show up for their community. From fundraisers to disaster relief, whether after a tornado, hurricane, or house fire, these ladies are always there when they’re needed.
This past Saturday was no exception as they hosted Pumpkins by the Lake. The event ran from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with eager kids arriving early and making a full day of it. There were pumpkins to decorate, photos to take, and plenty of contests to join. Young and old alike dressed up their pets for the costume competition, while others showed off their creativity in the scarecrow contest, hoping for some well-earned recognition.
Food trucks and vendors filled the park, offering just about anything you could want. One little attendee summed up the fun perfectly, saying, “I had a hot dog, but the weenie fell in the dirt and a dog ate it, so I just ate the bun with ketchup on it.” Nothing could dampen his spirit that day.
A huge thank you goes out to the First Ladies of Sneads for always showing up and showing out for the community, from toddlers to great-grandparents, everyone had a wonderful time.
