Lady Bulldogs Coasting into District Playoffs

The MHS Lady Bulldogs are having a phenomenal season. They have three games left in the regular season and with two wins this past week, they are riding a six-game win streak. In those last six games, they have dominated their opponents, outsourcing them 315 points to 175 points. They are sporting an 13-6 record on the season and peaking at the right time. Their latest two games brought a 54-31 win over county rival Graceville Thursday, and a 50-21 win over Arnold Friday night.

In Friday night’s game against Arnold, Marianna was on their ‘A’ game from the opening tipoff. They posted 21 points in the first quarter behind the shooting Harmoni Gibson and Ja’Shonna Mathis with five points each. Their defense held the Marlins to just four points. Dessiah Gee led the Lady Bulldogs in the second quarter, garnishing 11 of the 13 points scored, while Arnold posted five points. At the half, Marianna was in control 34-9.

Marianna cruised in the second half, outpacing the Marlins 16-12 to secure their win.

On the night, Marianna was led by Gee with 16 points, followed by Gibson with 11, and Mathis with 10 points.
