Lady Bulldogs Outlast Chargers in Five-Set Thriller

By: Shelia Mader

The Lady Bulldogs returned home last Thursday night eager to shake off a pair of tough road losses. Playing in front of their home crowd, they gave fans a match to remember, battling through five sets before sealing a hard-fought win over the Community Christian Chargers.

Community Christian struck first, edging out Marianna 25-23 in the opening set. The Lady Bulldogs regrouped quickly, taking the second set 25-21 and then rolling to a 25-17 victory in the third. Refusing to go quietly, the Chargers answered with a 25-18 win in set four, forcing a decisive fifth set.

With the crowd behind them, Marianna dug deep and showed true grit, pulling out a 15-11 win in the final set to clinch the match.

The victory was a testament to the Bulldogs’ determination and resilience, bouncing back from an early setback and grinding their way through momentum shifts to come out on top.

Marianna was scheduled to return to action this past Monday and Tuesday before taking a short break. The Times will have full coverage of those games in next week’s edition.
