Malone Tigers Season Ends

The Malone Tigers finished the regular season with a 12-12 record before heading into districts. The first game in district play was against the Liberty County Bulldogs. They won that game 67-60 to advance in the playoffs. Two nights later, they faced an always-tough Munroe Bobcats team that brought the Tiger season to an end. The Bobcats outscored Malone 79-43, ending their season with a 13-13 record.
In Tuesday’s game, Malone took an early 11-8 lead after one quarter of play before Liberty County answered with a14-12 second quarter. Malone led 23-22 midway through the game. Malone outscored the Bulldogs 27-24 in the third quarter and 17-14 in the final quarter to secure the win.
Donis Mesidor led the way offensively and recorded a double-double in the process with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Charleston McGriff was on board with 16 points, followed by Jamerius Sims with 13 points, seven rebounds four assists and five steals.
Two nights later, the Malone Tigers traveled for their second district playoff game against the Munroe Bobcats. They were met with a force, falling 79-53 to end their season.
Malone was led by Jamerius Sims with 10 points, 11 rebounds, three assists and five steals. Kris Smith was in double digits with 10 points, and added five rebounds, three assists, and two steals, followed by Jadrian Gilbert with nine points, four rebounds, one assist, and two steals.
