Master Gardeners Draw Crowds for Spring Plant Sale

By Shelia Mader

The Jackson County Master Gardeners kicked off the spring season with their annual plant sale on Saturday, March 21, drawing a strong turnout from local gardening enthusiasts.

Many eager shoppers arrived before the 7:00 a.m. opening, lining up early to get a first look at the wide selection of plants. They weren’t disappointed. The sale featured a variety of vegetable starts, which proved especially popular, along with fruit trees, smaller fruit plants, flowers, and more.

In addition to the plant offerings, vendors were set up throughout the event, giving attendees the chance to browse and shop a range of gardening-related goods.

One notable change this year was the relocation of the checkout process indoors. Although the weather cooperated, many visitors expressed appreciation for the updated setup, calling it a welcome improvement.

If the enthusiasm and strong sales are any sign, local gardens should be producing plenty of fruits and vegetables in the months ahead.
