McDaniel’s Piggly Wiggly Gives Back
McDaniel’s Piggly Wiggly, located in the heart of Sneads, is well-known for their generosity in giving back to the community. From allowing fund-raisers of all kinds to sell their baked goods, raffle tickets, whatever outside their busy store to food giveaways to being 199% all about their customers in the Jackson and Gadsden County areas.
With many people struggling throughout the year, the McDaniels are well aware of the added burden during the holidays. With that in mind, they have partnered with Second Harvest of the Big Bend to host two free food distribution events on Wednesday, November 19 to support families in need across the region.
The first distribution will take place at Adam Tucker Wilson Park in Sneads, Florida, beginning at 10 a.m. CST. The second will be held at the Chattahoochee Recreation Center in Chattahoochee, Florida, beginning at 2 p.m. EST.
Each event will provide free produce, protein, and other nutritious food items for families seeking assistance. Community members are encouraged to arrive no earlier than 30 minutes before the start time to ensure a smooth and orderly distribution.
The food distributions are part of McDaniel’s ongoing commitment to serving the communities surrounding its stores throughout North Florida and South Georgia. The partnership with Second Harvest of the Big Bend allows both organizations to expand access to healthy, essential foods for families facing food insecurity.
The Times spoke with Kevin McDaniel Tuesday morning about the event, “We plan to do this in all of our stores during the holiday season. We know times are strained and we want to show our appreciation and welcome all of our customers who may need a little extra in these times, to come out Wednesday to see us.”
