MK8 Volleyball vs. Blountstown Tigers

The Bullpups hosted a pair of games against Blountstown last week and came away with mixed results. Both teams took the game to three sets with the ‘A’ team winning their game and the ‘B’ team falling short.
‘A’ Team Wins in Three Sets
The Marianna Bullpups came out strong and set the tone early, rolling to a 25-11 win in the opening set. Blountstown pushed back with a 25-18 victory in the second, but Marianna regrouped and closed it out 15-9 in the decisive third set.
Aynzley Smith led the way with seven ace serves. Sydney Green paced the defense with five passes, while Blair Angerbrandt powered the offense with seven kills. Adyson Brown added 14 sets to her stat line.
‘B’ Team Falls in Three
The ‘B’ squad dropped the first set 25-19 but rallied to even things up with a 25-21 win in set two. The deciding set was a battle, but Blountstown edged out a 15-10 victory.
Thalia Francisco-Mendoza had a strong serving night with 11 aces. Sabra Carter led the defense with 16 passes and also contributed 12 sets. Kamdyn Tew and Aubree Kirksey each tallied two kills.
