Bulldogs Finish Strong Ahead of District Playoffs

The Marianna High School Bulldog golf team started last week on a strong note, finishing second behind North Bay Haven. North Bay Haven posted a team total of 173, while the Bulldogs followed closely at 178. Altha rounded out the standings with a 187.

Senior Creed Whitworth led the Bulldogs with an impressive 37, bringing his “A” game to the course. Rathan Barnes followed with a 44, while Mason Lewis carded a 48. Both Branden Spooner and Bryson Lewis finished with 49s to complete the team score.

Later in the week, the Bulldogs claimed first place in their second match, finishing with a team total of 178. Jay came in just behind them at 180, followed by Chipley at 191 and Walton at 205.

Rathan Barnes topped the Bulldogs’ leaderboard in that match with a 42, closely followed by Creed Whitworth’s 43. Mason Lewis shot a 45, and Jackson Kent rounded out the scoring with a 48.

Marianna will wrap up the regular season this week before heading into the District playoffs on October 27, 2025.
