On Thursday June 5th, 2025, as part of an ongoing investigation into the illegal sale of nicotine vape products to underage individuals, the Marianna Police Department conducted an undercover operation targeting a local convenience store.

During the investigation, officers focused on the Big Little convenience store. An underage individual, under the supervision of law enforcement, was utilized to attempt a purchase of an electronic vape product containing nicotine.

The store clerk, identified as MD Abdullah Al Helal, completed the sale to the underage individual. As a result, he was immediately taken into custody and charged with Selling Nicotine Products to a Person Under 21 Years of Age.

MD Abdullah Al Helal was subsequently transported to the Jackson County Correctional Facility, where he awaits his first court appearance.

The Marianna Police Department remains committed to enforcing laws that protect minors from illegal substances and ensuring compliance among local businesses.
