The Grand Ridge Indians hit the road to Vernon for their first middle school basketball games of the 2025 season, but the results weren’t what they had hoped for. The Yellowjackets claimed the “A” game 35-24 and followed with a 32-27 win in the “B” game.

The Grand Ridge “B” team kept things close but ultimately fell 32-27. Carter Sheard led the team with nine points, followed by Emerson Young with eight. Kaiden Dudley added six, and Caden Bassham rounded out the scoring with four.

The Indians had little time to rest before traveling to Cottondale to take on the Hornets. Coverage of that matchup appears elsewhere in this week’s Times.
