Main Street’s Pumpkins in the Park deemed a success

Fall is definitely in the air, and festivals, pumpkin patches, and other seasonal events are popping up all over Jackson County. Main Street Marianna carried on its tradition with the annual Pumpkins in the Park, drawing a large crowd that came early and stayed late. Families enjoyed a full day of activities for children of all ages, while adults browsed the many offerings at the Farmers Market.
Children had their pick of pumpkins, big and small, paint, personalize, and decorate to their hearts’ content. Vendors at the Farmers Market joined in the festive spirit, dressing up their booths and displays to delight the little ones.
One adult praised the event, saying, “Saturday’s Pumpkins in the Park continues to be awesome for the kids. This is something everyone can enjoy, young and old alike, and we look forward to it every year. The park is the perfect place for it, and I hope it keeps going. We didn’t have anything like this when my kids were little, but I haven’t missed one with my grandkids.”
Main Street Marianna partnered with the Marianna City Farmers Market to host the event, which featured free pumpkins for children, face painting, food trucks, and plenty of vendors.
Four-year-old Melanee Brown was beaming as she passed the Times office with her freshly painted pumpkin. She stopped in for one more treat and proudly announced that she had painted it all by herself, using her favorite colors, pink and purple.
A big thank-you goes out to everyone who helped make this year’s Pumpkins in the Park another success for our community’s young ones.
