Aaron Davis, a proud 2016 graduate of Graceville High School, is returning to his alma mater in a leadership role, this time as head football coach. Davis, who played defensive end for the Tigers during his high school years, is determined to restore the program’s tradition of grit, effort, and relentless play.
After graduating from Graceville, Davis attended Mississippi State for a year before returning home to complete his education at Chipola College. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and will also be teaching in the computer lab at the school.
When asked about his goals for the team, Davis said, “Just to kind of bring back a tradition of just playing hard and playing relentless, you know, man, with just effort.”
Davis is already building momentum with the team. He has spoken with the players and expects about 25 athletes to suit up this season, although only one is a senior. The Tigers are in rebuilding mode, but Davis remains optimistic and ready for the challenge.
Supporting Davis on the sidelines will be assistant coaches Marquez Smith, DJ Pittman, Leroy Barkley, and Carlon Smith. Offensively, the Tigers will run a spread formation out of the 11 personnel package, leaning into a shotgun-heavy, air raid-style attack.
In his personal life, Davis shares his journey with his girlfriend, Aleisha Ramos. The couple has a three-year-old son, Amari, and they are expecting another son soon.
With a passion for football and a deep connection to the community, Davis is ready to lead Graceville back to its winning ways, one play at a time.
