Rollover accident on SR 77 in Jackson County

JACKSON COUNTY, FL– The Florida Highway Patrol responded to a fatal crash on SR 77 Southbound and Golden Road on Sunday afternoon. 

According to a news release, the incident happened just before 4:30 p.m. when an SUV was southbound on SR 77 and traveled west of the roadway. The vehicle then crossed SR 77 and traveled east of the roadway. 

The SUV struck a dirt embankment on the north shoulder of Golden Road. It overturned, struck a tree, and continued traveling in a southeastern direction, troopers said. 

FHP confirmed the driver, a 54-year-old man from Graceville, Florida, was ejected, and his vehicle struck a shed on private property.
