Shooting in Jackson County
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Jackson County, FL - On November 2, 2025, at approximately 4:21 PM, the Jackson County Sheriff's Office responded to a report that Shanna Mason Rose had shot a person.
The investigation revealed that earlier that evening, the victim had stopped by Rose's residence for a visit. The two went out onto the porch to talk, where the conversation quickly escalated into a verbal altercation. As the victim attempted to walk away to de-escalate the situation, Rose retrieved a firearm and shot the victim in the back.
The victim managed to reach their vehicle and drive toward help. Emergency medical personnel arrived promptly, provided treatment for their injuries, and transported the victim to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
Deputies from the Jackson County Sheriff's Office quickly secured the scene, recovered the firearm, and ensured there was no further threat to the public.
Shanna Mason Rose was arrested on scene and is now charged with:
(1) Count of Attempted Murder
Rose was booked into the Jackson County Correctional Facility, where her bond was set at $250,000.
This incident remains under active investigation.
