Sneads Police, Apalachee Correctional Institution staff stop contraband from reaching prison
SNEADS, Fla. – Sneads Police Department responded to assist Apalachee Correctional Institution staff after contraband was intercepted before it entered the prison.
Officials said the items never made it onto prison grounds thanks to ACI staff stopping inmates who were planning to bring them in. Sneads Police seized the contraband, which was later turned over to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division.
Chief Brett N. Preston expressed his gratitude to ACI staff and the sheriff’s office for their roles in the case.
“ACI are never given enough credit for what they are walking into when they go to work every day,” Preston said. “We also thank the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in this incident.”
