Ta’Myra Hall Awarded Marianna City Scholarship

The Marianna City Commission blended a bit of celebration with its usual business of budgets, bills, and problem-solving during Tuesday night’s regular meeting. Among the highlights was the presentation of the annual Marianna City Scholarship, a tradition that supports local students in furthering their education.

Each year, the City awards one $1,000-per-semester scholarship to a student who resides within the Marianna city limits. The award begins with the upcoming Fall 2025 semester and may be renewed for Fall 2026 if the recipient continues to meet the program’s guidelines.

This year, three eligible applications were submitted, and in August the Commission voted unanimously, 5–0, to award the scholarship to Ta’Myra Hall.

Hall, who is enrolled as a full-time student at Chipola College, attended Tuesday night’s meeting where she was formally presented with her scholarship award. With a smile, she thanked the Commission for their support and expressed her appreciation for being chosen.

Commissioners, in turn, offered their congratulations, commending Hall for her dedication to her education and wishing her continued success in her college journey.

The scholarship program reflects the City’s ongoing commitment to investing in Marianna’s future by supporting young residents as they pursue higher education. This year’s recipient, Ta’Myra Hall, stands as a bright example of that investment in action.
