Teagan Addison completes 1000 Books

The Jackson County Public Library, together with the Jackson County School Board, understands the lifelong impact that reading can have on a child’s future. Both organizations emphasize the importance of developing strong reading habits early, even before a child enters a traditional classroom. By fostering a love for books in the preschool years, they hope to inspire a lifetime pattern of curiosity, learning, and imagination.

Educators and reading advocates alike will agree, when a child discovers the joy of reading at a young age, it sets the stage for a lifelong journey filled with knowledge and growth. At the September meeting of the Jackson County School Board, this belief was brought to life in a special way as the Board and Superintendent proudly recognized a young reader who reached a remarkable milestone: completing 1,000 books before starting kindergarten.

The spotlight was on Teagan Addison, who joyfully accepted her certificate marking the accomplishment of reading 1,000 books. Teagan’s smile lit up the room as she was honored for her dedication, and the moment was made even more special by the presence of Early Childhood Center teacher Kim Mock, who celebrated right alongside her, adding to the excitement and pride of the day.

The Jackson County School Board extended their heartfelt congratulations to Teagan, commending not only her achievement but also the encouragement of her family and teachers who helped her along the way. It was a celebration of dedication, imagination, and the powerful role that reading plays in shaping bright futures.
