Commission approves airport runway rehab

By: Shelia Mader

City Manager addressed the city council at their regular monthly meeting with a request to approve Resolution 25-017. This is an amendment to the Department of Transportation grant program.

This is an aviation program for the rehabilitation of Runway 8-26. This will bring the grant amount for that project to $4,200,000. The project consists of construction, professional services, design, bid, construction, administration, basically the entire package to rehabilitate the existing runway.

The City is required to sign Amendment 2 and approve Resolution 25-017 to identify persons with authority to sign.

Long said, “This is to approve a resolution to essentially get this ball rolling. All grant money, no money out of the city's pocket.”

The motion passed unanimously.
