Update on Shooting investigation

The Jackson County Times is aware of the shooting that occurred at 5685 Blue Springs Road in the early morning hours today and of a shooting on Delta Lane Wednesday evening. As soon as we have information from law enforcement, we will report what we are given.

The Jackson County Times received the following press release from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.

In the early morning hours of August 17, 2025, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call for service at 5685 Blue Springs Road, Greenwood, FL. where multiple gunshots had been reported at a large gathering. While deputies were responding to the call, the Sheriff’s Office was notified that a gunshot victim was being transported to the hospital by personal vehicle. Investigators responded to the hospital and began trying to piece together what had occurred.

A total of two victims with gunshot wounds were brought to the emergency room by personal vehicle and later transferred to another local hospital due to their injuries. Investigators worked through the night and will continue to investigate this case to determine what occurred. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is currently on scene processing the scene where multiple vehicles were struck by gun fire during the incident.
