Waste Pro Takes Over in Jackson County on January 2nd
Jackson County, Fla. - Jackson County is preparing for a major change in residential garbage service as Waste Pro of Florida, Inc. takes over collection throughout the unincorporated areas of the county beginning January 2, 2026. The transition follows a competitive RFP process approved by the County Commission, and Waste Pro is now mobilizing staff and equipment to ensure a smooth transition. Residents currently receiving service from Waste Pro do not need to take any action. Delivery of new Waste Pro garbage carts will begin the week of December 8, 2025, and households are asked not to use the new carts until service officially starts in January. Customers will be notified ahead of any service-day changes; however, the county reports that pickup days will remain the same. Under the new agreement, customers will be billed quarterly at a rate of $22.63 per month, with additional carts available for $4.64 per month. The new rate becomes effective January 1, 2026, and residents can expect their first quarterly invoice at the beginning of January. Waste Management will continue providing service through December 31, 2025, ensuring no lapse in collection during the changeover. Anyone who does not receive a new cart by December 19, 2025, or needs to verify their account information has transferred correctly, is encouraged to contact Waste Pro’s local office at 850-993-2070. County officials note that the transition is designed to maintain consistent service levels while bringing a dedicated customer service team and updated equipment to local households.
Waste Pro has provided service to Marianna and Sneads for several years and they report they are eager to serve the citizens of Jackson County with the same quality service.
