Saturday: Sanguine: adjective. A formal word that today almost always describes someone who is confident and hopeful, or something that shows confidence and hopefulness. It can also describe something that is bloodred in color, something involving or relating to bloodshed, or a person’s reddish complexion. The young couple of entrepreneurs is sanguine about the future of their business.
Sunday: Abstemious : Adjective. Indulging only very moderately in something, especially food and drink. He threw his abstemious diet out the window and indulged in cake on his birthday.
Monday: Hypnagogic: Adjective. Relating to the state immediately before falling asleep. He listened to instrumental music to relax into a hypnagogic state.
Tuesday: Monopoly: noun. A commodity controlled by a single party, exclusive possession or control of something or exclusive ownership through legal privilege, command of supply, or concerted action. The company had a monopoly on the soap sales in their town.
Wednesday: Hoax: noun. An act intended to trick or dupe, something accepted or established by fraud or fabrication. They pretended to be a businessman for a hoax.
