Angus Elsworth Comerford
Angus Elsworth Comerford passed away Wednesday, December 10 in Clermont, FL. He was born in Marianna, FL on September 21, 1925 to John and Bessie Comerford. He attended Jackson County Schools and in 1943, at the age of 17, enlisted in the U. S. Navy. He served in naval aviation and after being honorably discharged in 1946, he attended Florida Barber College and worked as a journeyman barber in Pensacola.

On June 6, 1947 he married Dorothy McNair of Pensacola where they raised their family of three children. In 1955 he began his career as a firefighter for the U. S. Navy. He retired as a captain from Naval Air Station Pensacola Fire Department in August 1980.
In retirement he pursued his hobbies. Angus took pride in his flower and vegetable gardens and loved the outdoors. He spent many summers at his camp on Perdido Bay fishing and helping raise his grandchildren. He was an avid quail hunter and kept a kennel of pointing dogs for 40 years.
Angus was a member for over 65 years and past master of the Myrtle Grove Masonic Lodge #352. He was a member of Myrtle Grove Chapter 302 Order of Eastern Star and a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason. He was a member of Plainview Baptist Church and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
He was predeceased by his parents John and Bessie Comerford, wife Dorothy Comerford, son Alan Comerford, sisters Elizabeth Barnes, Edna Robinson, Evelyn Kelly, Irma Hanford, and Bessie Mae Daniels; brothers James Ray Comerford, John Robert Comerford, Tony Comerford, son-in-law Ray Storm, and grandson-in-law Erik Kemp.
He is survived by his daughters Linda Storm of Leesburg, FL, Suzanne (Jack) Bartles of Smithfield, VA, grandchildren Christopher (Brandi) Storm of Shingleton, MI, Diane Storm of Suffolk, VA, Kimberly Hurst of Fort Mill, SC, Lindsay Kemp of Wake Forest, NC, great grandchildren, Easton Shores, Mason Shores, Emory Kemp, and Ellie Kemp, Mary Adams and JoAnn Snyder, of Marianna, FL, Betty Ann Qualls of Tennessee, brothers Pete (Carloyn) Comerford, James (Linda) Comerford, Steve (Norma) Comerford, all of Marianna, FL. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends living throughout the southeastern U. S.
Pallbearers will be members of the Myrtle Grove Masonic Lodge and John Williams.
Funeral services, with Masonic Honors, will be held on Wednesday, December 17, at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with burial in Pensacola Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be at 10:00 a.m, service at 11:00 a.m.
