Deacon Joseph Lee Baker, Jr., age 80, of Malone, Florida went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 9, 2025.

He was a native of Jackson County, Florida and a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Malone. Deacon Baker served his country in the United States Army and the Army Reserve. He was also retired from Lehigh of Marianna and Dozier School for Boys.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 59 years, Emma Tucker Baker of Malone, Florida; his children: Ronald Baker (Vanessa), Mendez Baker and Reginald Baker, Sr., all of Malone, Florida and Kevin Baker (Heather) of Clarksville, TN; seventeen grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two very special goddaughters: Dorothy Sorey (Benjamin) and Sharon Ashley; two brothers: Robert Baker, Sr., and James C. Baker of Dade City, Florida; a sister, Lillie B. Lipcomb of Village, Florida; 3 special nephews: Mose Baker (Rosalyn) of West Palm Beach, Florida, Chris Codling (Tameka) of Apollo Beach, Florida, Robert Baker, Jr. (Loretta) of Memphis, TN; three brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law; three godchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends and special hunting friends.

Public visitation will be on Friday, October 17, 2025, 4-6 PM at the M. Sue and Rodney D. Pittman Memorial Chapel in Graceville.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 11:00 AM from the sanctuary of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 5330 Old US Road in Malone, Florida with the Reverend Mark Dudley officiating.

Deacon Baker will be laid to rest in the church cemetery, with military honors, under the directions of Christian Memorial Chapel of Graceville, Florida.
