Brian Robert Wright, a cherished educator, coach, and family man, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2026, in Chattahoochee, Florida. Born on August 9, 1955, in Fort Fairfield, Maine, to Robert P. Wright and June Flanagan Wright, Brian's life was a testament to his dedication to his family, his faith, and the countless lives he touched through his work.
Brian's journey led him from the scenic views of Maine to the sunny shores of Florida, where he pursued higher education. A proud alumnus of Florida State University, he earned his Master's Degree and embarked on a career that would define his legacy. As a teacher, football coach, baseball coach, and school administrator, Brian inspired a generation of students with his passion for education and sports. His commitment to shaping young minds extended into his final role with the Florida Department of Corrections, where he served as the Education Administrator/Supervisor at Apalachee Correctional Institution.
Throughout his life, Brian's Christian faith was a cornerstone of his existence. He was a devout member of Faceville Baptist Church, where he lived out his beliefs through service and fellowship. His faith guided him in every aspect of his life and provided comfort and strength to those around him.
Brian's memory will be lovingly remembered by his two sons, Josh Wright (Summer) and Thomas Justus Wright (Sara); his siblings, Cheryl Cropley, Marcia Mathie, Rod Wright, and Brent Wright; his adored grandchildren, Hunter, Keegan, Carly, and Maggie Wright; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will miss his guidance and unwavering support.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert P. Wright and June Flanagan Wright, who instilled in him the values of kindness, integrity, and hard work that he carried throughout his life.
Brian's legacy is not only etched in the hearts of his loved ones but also in the community he served. His impact as an educator and mentor will continue to resonate with the many lives he influenced. His laughter, wisdom, and the stories he shared will be deeply missed, yet they will continue to bring comfort and smiles to those who had the privilege of knowing him.
As we bid farewell to Brian Robert Wright, we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey well-traveled, and a man well-loved. His spirit will forever remain a guiding light for his family, friends, and the countless individuals he inspired along the way.
In accordance with Brian’s wishes, cremation has been planned. The family will gather for a private graveside service in Maine to honor his life and the immense love he shared with them.
