Ann R. Hopkins
Ann R. Hopkins, age 85, of Vidor, Texas, died on Sunday, August 9, 2026.
She was born on October 16, 1940, in Marianna, Florida, to Dorothy Hortense Wimberly and Hebron E. Rooks. She was a beloved grandmother, a strong and accomplished woman, and a cherished presence in the lives of all who knew her. She proudly served as President of Vic’s Road Service, Inc., where her dedication and leadership reflected the strength and determination that defined her life. Outside of work, Ann enjoyed fishing, traveling, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren, whom she loved deeply and treasured beyond words. Her family was the center of her world, and her warmth, wisdom, laughter, and unconditional love created memories that will remain in their hearts forever. Though she has passed from this life, her legacy of love and the beautiful memories she gave her family will live on for generations to come.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vic Hopkins; her parents; her son, Steven Chance; and sister, June Johnson.
Survivors include her daughter, Angela Barker of Shreveport, Louisiana; grandchildren, Kim Welch and her husband, Lance, Tammy Jones and her husband, Scott, Brandie Fussell and her husband, Jason, Adam Chance and his wife, Charlie, and Jordan Barker; great-grandchildren, Russell Welch, Logan Welch, Tiffany Jones, Scotty Jones, Randy Fussell, Noah Fussell, Luke Fussell, Cooper Chance, and Abigail Chance; nephew, Micheal Johnson and his wife, Annamarie; niece, Carol Johnson; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Saturday, August 15, 2026 at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Partners for Pets Animal Shelter (4011 Maintenance Drive, Marianna, Florida 32446).
