James Warren Shuemake

James Warren Shuemake, 80, passed away suddenly Thursday, April 3O, 2026, at his home in Marianna, Florida, surrounded by his loving wife of 58 years and family.

He was born December 23, 1945, in Chipley, Florida to the late F.H. and Tidie Kirkland Shuemake. He graduated in 1966 and served in the US Army. He retired from Sunland of Marianna. 

James is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Billy and Delmus Shuemake. He is survived by his wife, Annette Mitchell Shuemake; son, Gregory Warren Shuemake (Anna), daughter, Kristy Renae Speers (William Hamilton); grandchildren, Dominic Bradly Speers, Jessica Kaitlyn Speers (Keyvon), Dakota Alexander Speers (Tierra); great-grandchildren, Trinity, Bradley, Carson Chloe, Azalea (arriving in July), Braylee and Maddilynn.

The family would also like to give special recognition to his loving daughter Kristy, and her husband, William Hamilton; grandchildren, Jessica (Keyvon) and Dakota Speers (Tierra) for helping take care of James the last two years and his final days. 

Funeral Services will be 10 AM (CST), Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel in Marianna.  Burial will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 9:00 am until 9:45 am prior to the service at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel.
