Bette Wilma Moore

Bette Wilma Moore, age 94, of Marianna, FL, passed away on April 18, 2026 at Marianna Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born December 12, 1931 in Plains, Georgia to Samuel and Airee Crawford. At a young age, Bette moved to Marianna where she met her husband, L.H. Moore and together they had two sons, James Richard Moore and Randal Clayton Moore.

Bette worked for the Telephone Company for many years and was an active member of the Marianna First United Methodist Church. Bette had many interest through the years including clogging and square dancing, and spending time with family in the Georgia mountains fishing and camping. Bette served her community in many ways by contributing anonymously to others in need and funding coats and backpacks for kids. She also enjoyed volunteering at the voting polls during many elections.

Bette was an excellent cook and was known for showing up at your door with a homemade pecan pie. She also enjoyed cooking for others during the holidays by providing turkeys and hams. Her love of cooking led her to write her own cookbook that she shared with others over the years.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, L.H. Moore; her siblings, Katherine Ratliff, Zelma Murphy, Ed Crawford, Chrystelle Ivey, Sara Bray, and Cecil Crawford.

Bette is survived by her two sons, Ricky Moore and Randy Moore; many nieces and nephews; and her precious cats, Gypsy and Jenny.

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, April 23, 2026 at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. Nathan Attwood officiating. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of the Pines Mausoleum at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends for visitation from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church Children’s Fund. (2901 Caledonia St. Marianna, FL 32446).

The family would like to thank her Angels at Marianna Health and Rehabilitation Center for the loving care they gave mother.
