May 2, 1947 ~ December 8, 2025
Robert Earl Cloud, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away peacefully on December 8, 2025, at the age of 78, in Marianna, Florida. Born on May 2, 1947, in Sneads, Florida to the late J.W. Cloud and Fransis Rabon Cloud. Also preceded in death by his daughters Lisa Kay and Lisa Faye, Sons in law Clarence Neel, Mark Smith and brother John Cloud. Robert lived a life marked by kindness, wisdom, and generosity.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Cecilee Williams Cloud and their four children Melissa Gilley (Charles) Rodney Cloud (Angelique) Eric Cloud and Tawanna Woods (Shannon); Children Angie Moore (Tony), Jackie Williams (Sheldon) Amy Smith (Mark) Robert Cloud, William Lay (Candace), Rhoda Moody (Shawn), Erica Burke (Jock) Frannie Williams (Mike). He was a proud Grandfather of 27 Grandchildren and 15 Great-Grandchildren: His three sisters, Mertice Faircloth, Annie Davis and Ida Wagner: His two best friends Ralph McDaniel and Tony Williams. The patriarch of the Cloud family, Robert's legacy of love and guidance, will continue to live on through his children and the many lives he touched.
For many years, Robert worked diligently as a farmer, cultivating the land with the same care and attention he gave to his family and friendships. His dedication to his craft was matched by his service with the Corps of Engineers, where he was respected for his strong work ethic and amiable nature.
An outdoorsman at heart, Robert found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He reveled in sitting outside and visiting with friends and family, where his friendly conversation was always a highlight. A fisherman and duck hunter, he cherished the tranquility of nature and the thrill of the hunt, especially with his sons and grandsons by his side. His love for grilling was well-known, and many will remember the mouthwatering meals he generously shared.
Robert was best described as friendly, generous, and wise—a man whose presence was a comfort and whose advice was sought after. A quote his family will always remember when the job seems tough, and the days seem long "boys it's gonna be tough but we gotta get it done".
As we bid farewell to Dad and Papa we celebrate a life lived and a man deeply loved. His impact on our lives is immeasurable, and his memory will be treasured forever in the hearts of those who knew him. Though he may have left this earthly realm, the lessons he imparted and the love he gave will continue to guide us. We take solace in knowing that his spirit will live on, as eternal as the land he once tended and as enduring as the faith that guided him. Rest in peace, Papa, until we meet again.
