Byron Walter Quivey age 79 of Alford, FL passed away Tuesday April 14, 2026 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Memorialization by cremation with Mckinnie Funeral Home of Campbellton, FL in charge of arrangements.

Born June 13, 1946, and raised in Santa Anna, California. Byron lived a full and vibrant life. He was the beloved husband of Cynthia L. Heath for 20 wonderful years.

Byron served in the Navy on the USS O’Bannon during the Vietnam War. He went to Japan and learned Shotokai Karate and taught it to others in the US. He graduated from UCLA for law enforcement and devoted his life to serving others. He retired as an investigator at the Santa Anna Police Department in California. He moved to Florida and taught law enforcement at Chipola College until 2011. He got his Doctorate of Education from the University of West Florida.

Byron has accomplished many wonderful things in his life that it is impossible to list them all. He has always devoted his life to helping others.

Byron is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Seaborn Howell, his son, Bryon Jeffrey Quivey, stepdaughter, Melissa Nicholls, and two granddaughters, Madison and Megan Howell.

Rest in peace, dear Byron. You will be forever missed and always remembered.
