Doris Deloris Weston-Matthews

Doris Deloris Weston-Matthews, affectionately known as “Jackie,” passed away suddenly on March 10, 2026, at her residence in Miramar, Florida.

Jackie was born and raised in Marianna, FL and accepted Christ at an early age at Pope Chapel A.M.E. Church. She graduated from Marianna High School in 1975 and went on to earn her degree from the Florida A & M University School of Pharmacy.

She began her career as a staff pharmacist at Eckerd Drugs in Miami, Florida and later retired as a hospital pharmacist at Memorial West Hospital.

Jackie is survived by her husband, Antonio “Smoov” Matthews; her mother, Doris Liggans of Tallahassee; four brothers: Crushell Weston and Matthew Weston of Marianna, FL, Manuel Freeman (Deborah) of Miramar, FL, and Gebru Freeman (Sugeidy) of Pompano Beach, FL; four sisters: Marina Freeman, Regina Speights (Al-exander) and Renee Weston of Marianna, FL, and LaVita Sherman of Tallahassee, FL; and her special uncle, Ernest Weston Jr. of Miami, FL. She also leaves behind numerous sorrowing family members and friends. Jackie was predeceased by her brother, Nicholas “Nikki” Weston.

A Memorial service will be held at Pope Chapel AME Church Saturday April 11, 2026 at 11 a.m.
