Edwin Lawson Mozley, Sr.
Mr. Edwin Lawson Mozley, Sr., a lifelong resident of the Malone area, died peacefully May 12, 2025, at home surrounded by his four children. He would have been 100 years old on October 14, a milestone that was looked forward to by those who knew him. Mr. Mozley was known as a kind, honest, and true Southern gentleman. He loved and farmed the land homesteaded by the Mozley family in 1855. In 1986, his family was recognized as a Century Pioneer Farm Family.
He is survived by his three daughters: Cathy Ann Mozley, Cyndy Mozley Parker, Carol (and husband, Eric Pope) and son, Edwin Mozley, Jr.; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and six great great-grandchildren, who will miss their Granddaddy. Mr. Mozley's love of family extended to four generations of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Ann Sellers Mozley; his parents, Edwin Leslie and Della Anderson Mozley; along with his eight siblings and their spouses.
Funeral service will be 4:00 PM, Friday, May 16, 2025, at Malone United Methodist Church with Rev. Ed Ham, Rev. Nicole Mayo and Cole Daum officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Collins Chapel Cemetery in Malone, Florida with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
