Angela “Angel” Denise Wasson

Angela "Angel" Denise Wasson, our beloved mother and wife, age 39, of Chipley, FL, passed into eternal rest on December 28, 2025. She was the embodiment of her given nickname, "Angel," known for her gentle spirit and loving nature that illuminated the lives of those around her. Born on April 18, 1986, in Marianna, FL, to the proud parents, John and Gracie Riley.

Angel achieved her GED from Florida Panhandle Technical College and furthered her education at Chipola College, where she received her CNA license, graduating at the top of her class. It was with Emerald Coast Hospice in Chipley where Angel dedicated over a decade of her life, caring for those at the most fragile moments of their lives. Her commitment to aid in healing continued at the Washington County Rehabilitation Center, where she was renowned for her kindness and expertise.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Riley Sr. and brother in-law, Jared Kent.

Angel is survived by her loving husband of 19 years, Lance Wasson; children, Haley Wasson, LT Wasson and Makinsey Wasson; her other special children, Amelia and Mahlani Blizzard; mother, Gracie Riley; brother, John Riley , Jr.; grandmother, Mable Alday; nieces, Adriana Blizzard and Winter Blizzard; great niece and nephew, Malia Williams and Colton Williams; mother in-law, Carolyn Wasson; father in-law, Tom Wasson and wife, Tonya; as well as her brothers in-law, Shane Kent and Lucas Wasson.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Saturday, January 3, 2025 at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home with Reverends Mike Orr  and Gino Mayo officiating. Interment will follow in Welcome Assembly of God Church Cemetery with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing. 

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 1:00 P.M., until the time of service at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.

Those serving as pallbearers include: Lance Wasson, Lucas Wasson, Chad Brackin, LT Wasson, JJ Riley, Jr., and Paul Riley.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Lambe family at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.
