Floyd “Wayne” Winkle

Floyd “Wayne” Winkle, who was born in England on June 2, 1962 and passed away on August 24, 2026, in Malone, Florida.

 

Fishing at the beach held a special place in Wayne’s heart. He found peace in waves, the salt air, and the calm that came from spending time near the water. As a culinary teacher, Wayne was more than an instructor. He was a mentor, a guide, and an encourager. He understood that cooking was not only about technique, but also about creativity, patience, and care.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Dorothy Winkle; step son, Michael McHan; brother, Jerry Winkle; and sister, Kay Redman.

 

Wayne is survived by his loving wife of twenty three years, Glenda Winkle, step daughters, Kristi Garrett, Melinda Baxter and husband, Michael of Grand Ridge, FL, Crystal Mathis and husband, Randall of Pensacola, FL; brother, Tommy Winkle of Panama City, FL; sisters, Gloria Ebert (Dennis) of Ohio, Vickie Winkle (Charles) of Tennessee, Yvonne Ulloa (Tony) of Texas; grandchildren, Marissa Chrestman (Colt), McLane Baxter, Haylee Brooke Mathis, Taylor Reese Mathis as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

Wayne will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those whose lives he touched.

 

A celebration of life will be at a later date with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
