Geoffrey Alan Hodges
Geoffrey Alan Hodges, known to family and friends as Geoff / Rebel , passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, in Panama City, Florida, at the age of 58.
Geoff was born on February 22, 1968, in Manassas, Virginia, and lived a full life in a short period of time. Geoff graduated from Mosley High School in 1986 and soon after answered the call to serve his country. He enlisted in the United States Army on March 12, 1987 and served three years of active duty, and later continued in the reserves before being recalled for Desert Storm. During his military service, he served as a gunner on a Bradley tank, a role that reflected his courage, discipline, and commitment to duty. His service was a source of pride and he held a deep respect for the brothers and sisters he served alongside.
Following his time in the Army, Geoff worked as a fabricator for Century Boats until the company closed, and later continued his career at Eastern Ship Building. He took pride in honest work and in using his hands to create and build. That same skill and patience extended beyond his job, as he also became an accomplished blacksmith who enjoyed making knives and axes. Geoff was also an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting, spending time outdoors. Whether he was on the water, in the woods, or working at the forge, he embraced the simple and meaningful things in life.
He is survived by his daughter, Ciera Diandrea and her husband, Dustin; parents, William David and Martha Gayle Hodges; grandchildren, Alessia, Everleigh, and Bodin; brothers, Anthony Dwayne Hodges and his wife, Donna, and Christopher David Hodges and his wife, Sarah; sister, Kelly Hodges Young and her husband, David; his grandfather, Willard Henderson; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, August 29, 2026 at New Salem Baptist Church with Pastor Joey Woodruff and David Hodges officiating.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Lambe Family at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.
