Ms. Elnora C. Sorey
Ms. Elnora C. Sorey, age 90 of Campbellton, Florida transitioned Tuesday night, September 23,
2025, at the Bonifay Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Bonifay, FL surrounded by her loving
family.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, October 4th at New Bethel C. M. E. Church, 2487
Highway 2, Campbellton, FL with Pastor Benjamin McMillian and Reverend Arlester
McCalister officiating. Interment will follow in the Holyneck M. B. Church Cemetery located at
3395 Holyneck Road in Campbellton, FL with McKinnie Funeral Home of Campbellton,
directing.
A public viewing for family and friends will be held on Friday, October 3rd, from 4:00 pm to 6:00
pm at the Shira & Chelcie McKinnie located at 5304 Bowden Hill Road Campbellton, FL.
Sister Elnora Sorey (affectionately called “Nue”) was born on February 27, 1935 in
Campbellton, FL to the late Albert Capehart and Dixie Mae Trueblood.
She was converted at an early age and joined Holyneck M. B. Church of Campbellton, FL where
she was a faithful member and served as an Usher until her health began to fell.
In 1952, she married Fred Sorey the love of her life. To this union ten children were born.
She enjoyed playing her lotto, especially scratch-off tickets. She also enjoyed spending time with
her family and talking on the phone to her friends.
She will truly be missed by everyone whose life she touched.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Fred Sorey Sr., siblings: Sally Blue
and Earnest Capehart; two sons: Eric Sorey and Reverend Henry Taylor and one grandchild,
Zebulon Sorey.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her children: Albert (Catherine) Sorey, Fred (Gail) Sorey,
Jr., Terather (Sylvester) Williams, Dixie Olds, Willie Lue (Lee Norris) Hodge, Charles (Cynthia)
Curry, Linda (Dallas) Snell, Lenora (William) Young, Benjamin (Dorothy) Sorey; nineteen
grandchildren; two brothers-in-law: Willie J. Bowden Sr. and Quintin Sorey Sr.; daughter-in-
law: Alice Taylor; Godson: Reverend Henry Olds; best friend: Annie Ruth Hope; adopted
daughters: Mary Ann Williams and Aggie O. Curry and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces,
nephews, cousins and other relatives, and friends.
