Joyce Lunell Shipes Deal

Joyce Lunell Shipes Deal passed peacefully from this life to glory Saturday evening, August 9, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Joyce was a native of Jackson County, born March 7, 1941, to Will and Valera Shipes. She married Doyle C. Deal, and they shared 67 years in matrimony building a life together.

Joyce was a remarkable woman who spent her life as the loving matriarch to her large family. She was also known to her family, church family, and friends as a faithful prayer warrior. 

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Doyle, her parents, and her siblings Earl, Merle, and Nettie Merle.

Joyce is survived by sons Ricky Deal (Joyce) of Niceville, Anthony Deal (Hildy) of Graceville, daughters Teresa Willis (Wert) and Kathy Waddell (Steve) both of Graceville, and son Stephen Deal (Michelle) of Panama City. She also is survived by thirteen grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at 10:00 am with funeral following at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 12, at Graceville Community Church, with interment to follow at New Hope Assembly of God Cemetery.  Joyce’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
