James "Jim" Lincoln Lowery, Jr.

James "Jim" Lincoln Lowery, Jr., age 76, of Marianna, departed this life on March 23, 2026, after a life rich in love, service, and faith. Born to the late James Lincoln and Barbara Franklin Lowery in Pensacola on January 22, 1950, he lived a life that exemplified strong values and commitment to his family and community.

James was a proud Veteran having served in the E Company, 1st of 506, 101st Airborne during the Vietnam War. After his time in the service, James continued to dedicate his life to helping others as a devoted firefighter and EMT in Boynton and Jackson County. He also served many years working as a direct care/supervisor for the Juvenile Justice System. After retiring, James found solace in the simplicity of outdoor life, taking great pleasure caring for the yard and doing tractor work.

James was a faithful member of New Hope Baptist Church, where he served with a joyful spirit and a helping hand, embodying the Christian values he so deeply cherished.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 38 years, Genia; his sons, James “Eric” Lowery and his wife, Dawn, and Ryan Lowery and his wife, Morgan; brothers John Lowery and his wife, Tina, Steve Lowery and his wife, Sandy, Todd Lowery, and Randy Lowery and his wife, Susan; nine grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren; along with many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at New Hope Baptist Church with Pastor Brandon Griffin officiating. Interment will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the United States Army Honor Guard. Marianna Chapel Funeral Home will be directing.

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at New Hope Baptist Church.

Flowers will be omitted. Memorial contributions may be made to the following animal rescue shelters in memory of Jim Lowery: Rescue to the Max (2117 Davenport Road, Marianna, FL 32448) or Sammy's Hope Rescue (P.O. Box 807, Bonifay, FL 32425).
